Opened in 2006 ths new attraction is quickly becoming a favourite with visitors to the Park.

Mr Wicksteeds Veteran Cars was designed, built and opened in 2006 to commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the Park. It transports our visitors back to the days when the Park's founder, Charles Wicksteed, could be seen driving his car around the Park on warm summer evenings.
Sited within the Lakeside area, behind the Monorail and where another Park favourite the Mini cars was based, it links the old (The Wicksteed Waterchute) with the new providing an insight into the way in which technology and the Park attractions have developed.

The MIni Cars, first built in 1952, created many happy memories for the Park Visitors and it was with much sadness that they had to be removed in 2005, because it was no longer possible or viable to maintain them. With this new attraction we have tried to recreate the memories and magic that belongs to this area of the Park and the response to date by visitors young and young at heart has been very positive.

The Veteran Cars have been constructed in such a way that allows families to ride on them but also create the opportunity for young people to feel as though they are driving the vehicle. The track on which the Veteran Cars are sited weaves around a landscaped area giving different views on the surrounding area which is enhanced by beautifully maintained flower beds.

To further enhance the experience this new attraction includes a period setting with a garage, signage and a specially constructed breakdown vehicle towing away one of the original Mini Cars.
